Updates from the Field

Olangama Update - June 2025

The gardens are thriving in Karambi!

Recent rains have blessed the area, and we’re already beginning to see the fruits of our labor. Together with the community, we launched a household gardening initiative to complement staple crops by growing tomatoes, onions, peppers, and eggplants. Our new agricultural specialist also trained community members on how to make organic fertilizer and natural pesticides—empowering them with sustainable, cost-effective tools.

In just a few short weeks, these efforts are already bearing fruit—

—with families beginning to harvest their first crops. It's a powerful reminder of what can grow when knowledge, resources, and community spirit come together.

Kisoro Update - June 2025

Last month, Ms. Karen from the Sanuriro community experienced a heartbreaking loss when her home was destroyed by strong winds and a powerful storm.

In an instant, she and her family of six were left without shelter, security, or possessions—facing unimaginable hardship. But in the midst of this crisis, the community rallied around her- neighbors came together, offering their time, resources, and labor to rebuild what was lost.

Joining hands with the community, Fight For The Forgotten provided materials and supervision to help ensure the home was rebuilt safely and quickly.

With their collective effort, a new home now stands—strong, safe, and full of hope. Thanks to this outpouring of support, Ms. Karen and her children can once again live with dignity, comfort, and a renewed sense of belonging.
